In the research section, computerized spatial data, remote sensing, cartography, and geographic information sciences are used for research projects and applications, such as analysis of natural resource management, environmental issues, urban growth, development of new mapping techniques, urban hazards, and land use change analysis.  These projects are described in detail on http://rockyweb.cr.usgs.gov/html/research.html.
